Nappier & Turner Construction Co., Inc. is focused on building better and healthier Hendersonville homes for our homeowners and the environment by building to meet the NC Healthy Built Homes and ENERGY STAR and standards and are proud members of the Western North Carolina Green Building Council. In addition, we are one of seven builders from across the country to pilot the EPA's WaterSense program to establish new standards in water efficiency. What is Green Building?
Simply put, "green building" is the practice of building homes that are energy and resource efficient, healthy for the buildings owners and have less overall impact on the environment. Green homes are "high performance homes" meaning they are comfortable, durable, healthy and efficient.

Living in a green or "environmentally friendly" homes does not mean making sacrifices. In fact, there are many homeowner advantages to living in our homes versus ones "just built to code" including:
  • Higher quality control through 3rd party inspections and performance testing
  • Proper air sealing to reduce drafts, lower energy bills and provide proper humidity levels
  • Reduced operating costs through lower utility and maintenance costs
  • Greater comfort through high efficient heating and cooling system, smart ductwork design and verified installation.
  • Lower utility rates from the power company.
  • Healthier indoor air quality due to high attention to material usage and moisture management.
  • Potentially lower health cost due to less upper respiratory and other health issues related to poor indoor air quality.
  • Lower maintenance and highly resilient landscaping that is native to Western North Carolina and drought resistant.
As a result, homeowners have a greater peace of mind knowing their home will be healthy, comfortable and efficient.


What are Healthy Built Homes and ENERGY STAR?
Healthy Built Homes is a statewide, voluntary green building certification program supported by the NC Solar Center, and Home Builder Associations across the state. Locally, the Western NC Green Building Council and the Asheville Home Builders Association support the program.

ENERGY STAR is a program of the Environmental Protection Agency that requires homes to be built 15% more efficient than the 2004 International Residential Code. This translates to a significant savings on energy bills.

In order for a home to qualify for either certification rigorous third party inspections and performance testing are completed to ensure that the home is properly insulated, air sealed, has a properly sealed HVAC system, and will pass performance tests to prove it!
